The forest
I smiled up at him, his eyes danced with happiness, the color and everchanging blue black.
I fell to the ground, the froest was filled with strange trees and flowers and the ground was softer than it should be.
"Where are we?" I asked breahtlessly, peeking up at the fading sun through the canopy of trees.
"We're in a forest." Noctis replied with a smirk.
"Oh bleep you. duh we're in a forest." I spread my arms eagle like, spinning in circles, careful to nt stupidly slam into any trees or him.
"It's a safety of sorts." He murmured and I stopped spinning. He was telling me something important, he never tells me much of where we are or why we're here, or why we can never return.
Why we're always on the run.
"If we go outside of the woods it will make it easier for them to track us. Easier for them to find me. and you."
"Why do they need me? you're the one who guards the crystal, which by the way I don't even know where it is. It's the crystal they want, not me."
"But you are important to me. And if they got a hold of you, there's no telling what I'd do to get you back."
I smirked at him, cheeks turning a redder to spite me.
"So where is this crystal?"
He looked at me, staring down at the hollow of my throat, at hte small crystal pendant he gave me a while ago.
"It's safest with you because I will protect you the hardest." He whispered.
I looked down at it, fingering it softly. His hair blew softly in the invisible wind, some of it going into his eyes.
I could truly say that was the moment it all went wrong.
There was a crack that he musn't have heard because he casually brushed hair out of his eyes and tried to get it to stay out of his eyes. It was one of the few moments his eyes weren't on me.
Something jumped out from a tree, its outstretced fingers towards me.
I can't fight at all, but noctis can.
I screamed and jumped out of the way, feet stupidly disobeying and flight instinct taking way as I flat out ran.
noctis' yelled echoed behind me as he tried to catch up to me, as he tried to get to me.
but it was too late.
A hand grasped my throat, lifting me off of the ground and taking my breaht all in one giant whoosh.
Noctis froze in his tracks, deep blue eyes staring at me with a scared I've-lost-everything look on his face.
the person laughed evilly, the cackle filling the crisp air as the sun dissappeared behind the horizon.
The cold blade of a knife touched my throat and I swalloed, drawing blood and I felt it drip down my neck and onto the crystal pendant.
"Kill him." I whispered to noctis, motioning to the sword in his hand with my eyes.
My hands clutched the person's arms, trying to get the hand off of my throat.
"Make your move Noctis. The crystal or your girl."
"The girl." Noctis said, eyes narrowing into slits as they changed from the blue black to the crimson red.
"Very well." The person sighed. "I was hoping this would be more fun but...."
"No!" I whispered fiercely, holding tight onto the crystal kicking back at the figure. "Noctis the crystal. Your kingdom will die without it."
he shook his head. "But you. I would die without you." his eyes were sad, even though they were still red and his hand gripped the sword hilt tighter.
I stared at him, and he stared at me, eyes keeping a dangerous eye contact.
"Make your choice noctis, or I will kill her and take the crystal."
"I already said. The girl." Noctis said harshly, his jaw clenched.
I could almost feel the figure smile and he moved the knife so it's point was at my neck. Slowly and painfully he moeved the knife down, slicing the string the crystal was on and grabbed it. Blood dribbled down my neck, dripping onto my shirt and staining it with red.
The man set me down and nocits lundged, sword out as he attempted to push me aside and impale the man who now held the crystal in his hand.
The man grabbed my arm, so quickly I barely saw it myself. He used me as a shield and before noctis could turn or even react the sword rammed through my stomach impaling me with his usual deadly angry force.
"NO!" He screamed letting go of the hilt as if his own actions surprised him.
Blood dripped from my lips as the man let go and I collapsed to the ground, pain winning out over my legs.
noctis flew over me, tackling the man, trying to get the crystal.
I stared up at the sky, the sky with the strange moon my eyes closing for a brief second, hands gripping the sowrd impaled in my stomach.
I watched noctis regain the crystal, killing the man with brutal anger.
"You killed her!" He screamed, a tear silently falling down his cheek and onto the blood, (his mine, or the man's I didn't know) that stained his shirt as he quickly turned to me grabbing me and setting me on his lap, brushing hair out of my face.
"Guard the crystal." I whispered hoarsely looking up at him. "It's the only thing that matters to you now. And know I'll always be with you." I said with a smile pulling his head down for one final kiss death winning out in the end.
